Using Sydney Driving Instructors
Is Sydney Driving Instructors a driving school?
No. Sydney Driving Instructors is a marketplace-style platform where you search and compare independent driving instructors. Instructors run their own businesses; we provide discovery, profiles, and (in future releases) booking and payments.
Where can I search for instructors?
Start from the homepage: enter your suburb or postcode in the search card, choose transmission if you like, then continue to the discovery page. You cannot browse the full list without entering a location—this keeps results relevant to your area.
Can I book a lesson today?
Phase 1 focuses on accounts and search. Real-time calendar booking and checkout are on the roadmap. You can still create an account and explore instructor profiles.
Pricing & payments
How much do driving lessons cost?
Each instructor sets their own hourly rate. Rates depend on location, transmission (auto or manual), and experience. Use discovery search to compare prices side by side.
How will payments work?
We plan to integrate secure card payments (e.g. Stripe) and, where appropriate, buy-now-pay-later options for packages. Until then, Sydney Driving Instructors does not take payments for lessons.
Learners & logbooks
Do structured lessons count toward my logbook?
In many Australian states, structured lessons with accredited instructors can count toward your logbook, sometimes with multipliers. Rules differ by state and change over time—check your local roads authority and ask your instructor.
Can I change instructors?
Yes. When dashboards launch, you will be able to switch instructors from your account. Today you can compare profiles and sign up so you are ready when booking goes live.

How do instructors join?
Create an account and choose the instructor role. You will add your display name, rate, transmission, and areas served. Verification and credentials checks may be expanded in later phases.
